THE IDEA

It started with
an idea.

In 2018, the idea behind Bharat Media came into existence: create a platform that could bring Indian communities together in America and give them a stronger collective voice.

In 2019, Bharat Media LLC was incorporated, turning the idea into an established organization and setting the foundation for the work that followed.

The vision was bigger than entertainment. It was about connection — creating a place where people from different languages, traditions and communities could discover each other, share their stories and find opportunities to connect.

2020 — A DEFINING MOMENT

When the world
stood still.

Then COVID-19 changed everything.

People were scared, isolated and uncertain. This was the moment when Manan Raval stepped forward and turned the idea into action — supporting the community, creating moments of connection and giving people reasons to smile.

During those difficult days, he provided free food, played music and entertained people through his restaurant, using what he had around him to bring people together.

People came. Then they joined. And they kept joining.

THE COMMUNITY

People became the
heart of the platform.

What began as an effort to bring people together grew into something much larger — a community of voices, volunteers, RJs, VJs, technical teams, supporters and organizations.

FROM CINCINNATI TO AMERICA

One city became
eight.

BHARAT FM® began in Cincinnati, Ohio. From there, the platform gradually expanded into stations serving communities across eight American cities.

Volunteers and community contributors are now present in almost every corner of the United States, helping BHARAT FM remain connected to the people it serves.

Indian communities in America are rich in language, culture and tradition — Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Hindi and many more.

Bharat Media exists to help bring those communities closer together under one platform while respecting the identities and traditions that make each community unique.

Our purpose goes beyond entertainment. We want to help people discover information, networking, jobs, opportunities, community resources and meaningful connections.

OUR FIRST VERTICAL

The voice that brought the community together.

BHARAT FM® is the first vertical of Bharat Media and remains the foundation of the network.

From Cincinnati, the station expanded to eight cities, bringing multilingual radio, music, news, culture, entertainment, conversations and community programming to Bhartiyas across America.

BHARAT FM® has also featured Bollywood celebrities, cricketers, army officers, senior government and diplomatic representatives, and voices from around the world.

OUR SECOND VERTICAL

News, information and stories for the community.

Bharat News is the online newspaper vertical of Bharat Media, created to build a dedicated news platform for the Indian-American community and beyond.

The full publication is being developed for launch, alongside a Bharat News mobile app and video content that will also extend across Bharat TV and BHARAT FM.

OUR THIRD VERTICAL

The next screen for Bharat Media.

Bharat TV is the OTT vertical of Bharat Media, being developed to expand the network into television and connected-screen experiences.

The next phase includes the launch of a television channel in North America, creating another platform through which Bharat Media can serve audiences.

A nine-hour live online singing show featuring participants across 34 Indian languages and 26 cities worldwide during the COVID era.

Ram Lalla Rath Yatra

The Ram Lalla Rath Yatra across North America, in collaboration with VHPA, was recognized with a certificate, and the name of the initiative is included in the Sri Ram Lalla Ayodhya Mandir Library.

A platform where

Over the years, Bharat Media platforms have welcomed voices from entertainment, sports, public service, government, diplomacy, defense, community leadership and organizations around the world.

Bollywood stars have used the platform to promote new films and songs. Cricketers, army officers and senior representatives from the Department of Defense, Department of State, Ministry of External Affairs and the White House have also been featured.

The common thread is simple: creating a space for conversations that matter to the community.

Founder, CEO

Manan Raval is the Founder and CEO of Bharat Media LLC, a Cincinnati, Ohio–based media company focused on connecting Bhartiyas across America through media, culture, entertainment, information and community. He provides the vision and leadership behind the organization and its growing media network. The idea behind Bharat Media emerged in 2018, and the company was incorporated in 2019. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Manan stepped forward to support the community, providing free food, playing music and creating moments of connection at a time when people were isolated and afraid. His leadership continues to focus on building a platform that connects communities, creates opportunities and gives people a stronger collective voice.

Hriday Raval is a Co-Founder and COO of Bharat Media LLC, where he works across technology, strategy, international affairs, media and strategic partnerships. He helps build organizations, develop partnerships and lead multidisciplinary initiatives that support the growth of Bharat Media and its broader network. His professional experience spans homeland security, cybersecurity, executive leadership, international collaboration and humanitarian initiatives. He has worked with governments, diplomatic missions, defense establishments, academic institutions, businesses and civil society organizations, while also contributing to research, writing and public discourse. His work with humanitarian and anti-human trafficking initiatives reflects his broader focus on collaboration, trust and creating opportunities for meaningful and lasting impact.

Air Marshal Anil Khosla, PVSM, AVSM, VM

Former Vice Chief of Air Staff, Indian Air Force | Advisory Board Member, Bharat News

Air Marshal Anil Khosla, PVSM, AVSM, VM, is a former Vice Chief of Air Staff (VCAS) of the Indian Air Force and former Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Air Command. Commissioned into the fighter stream in 1979, he has more than 4,000 hours of flying experience on aircraft including the Jaguar, MiG-21 and Kiran, with extensive experience in ground attack, air defence and maritime operations. He has held senior appointments including Director General Air Operations, Senior Air Staff Officer of Central Air Command and Director General (Inspection & Safety). He holds two M.Phil degrees in military studies and is a Distinguished Fellow at the United Services Institution of India and the Centre for Air Power Studies. He writes and speaks on air power, geopolitics, national security and strategic affairs.

Former Director General, Assam Rifles | Former Chairman, Cease Fire Monitoring Group | Advisory Board Member, Bharat News

Lt. Gen. Shokin Chauhan is a distinguished former Indian Army officer who served as the Director General of Assam Rifles, India’s oldest and largest paramilitary force, and later as Chairman of the Cease Fire Monitoring Group. In this role, he worked to strengthen the peace process in Northeast India, including bringing NSCN (K) back into the ceasefire process and successfully negotiating extensions of the ceasefire with Naga insurgent groups. Commissioned into the 11 Gorkha Rifles in December 1979, Lt. Gen. Chauhan held senior command appointments including command of 1 Corps, the Indian Army’s oldest and largest Strike Corps, 8 Mountain Division and 70 Mountain Brigade. He also led a detachment of Ski Troopers on the Siachen Glacier in 1984 and has extensive experience in counter-terrorism, counter-insurgency and strategic operations in Kashmir and the Northeast. He has served at senior levels in the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Home Affairs, with experience spanning defence, counter-insurgency, counter-terrorism, border management and human resource management. He also served as Defence Attaché at the Indian Embassy in Nepal and represented India at numerous international military forums and delegations. An accomplished scholar, Lt. Gen. Chauhan holds a PhD from Panjab University, Chandigarh, for his research on India-Nepal strategic relations. He is a regular contributor to scholarly publications and participates in seminars and leadership forums on strategic affairs, national security and India's strategic neighbourhood. He has been awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), Yudh Seva Medal (YSM), Sena Medal (SM) and Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM).

Maj Gen Rajan Kochhar, VSM (Retd.)

Former Major General, Indian Army | Defence Analyst & Author | Advisory Board Member, Bharat News

Maj Gen Rajan Kochhar, VSM (Retd.), served in the Indian Army for 37 years and retired as Major General, Army Ordnance Corps, Central Command, after a distinguished career of meritorious service to the nation. An alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College and College of Defence Management, he holds a doctorate in management. A prolific writer and defence analyst, Maj Gen Kochhar has authored four books, including Breaking the Chinese Myth, a best-selling title on Amazon. He is regularly invited as an expert commentator by leading television news channels and contributes his expertise to discussions on defence, strategic affairs and national security. He currently serves as Senior Adviser to DRaS, IRF and PCRI and is associated with the Manoj Parrikar Institute for Defence and Strategic Analyses, United Service Institution of India and CENJOWS, New Delhi. His work brings extensive experience in military leadership, defence analysis, strategic affairs and public discourse.

Major General (Dr.) S. B. Asthana, SM, VSM, PhD (Retd.) is a globally recognized strategic and security analyst and a veteran Indian Army officer. He holds a PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University and has authored more than 450 publications on strategic, defence and security affairs. During his distinguished military career, he held senior appointments including Director General of Infantry, Head of the Training Team at the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington and Sector Commander. He has also served with the United Nations and the United Service Institution of India. He is a sought-after television commentator and regularly lectures at strategic and military forums, United Nations organizations, think tanks and universities internationally. Major General Dr. Asthana holds prominent positions with national, international and United Nations organizations and has received recognition from the President of India, the United Nations and the former Prime Minister of Moldova for his contributions to international diplomacy and conflict resolution.
